Alberto is looking for: A Rental Property in Groningen

Hi hi!

I’m Alberto, a 31-year-old Master’s student moving to Groningen for the ReD Global Erasmus Mundus program at RUG.

I come from a background in Philosophy (currently writing Master’s thesis on Heidegger’s critique of metaphysics at Ca' Foscari in Venice), but I’ve also spent the last few years exploring very different worlds. I collaborate as an editor and writer for a online lifestyle magazine based in Tokyo focusing on Asian cinema and subcultures, collaborated on sound art and sculpture installations, and spent time practicing ceramics on a pottery wheel and film photography (I love shooting with manual 35mm lenses!). Most recently, I’ve been living in Denmark as a volunteer at Vestjyllands Højskole, an experience that shaped how much I enjoy community life, shared meals, and sustainability.

Having lived in Gent, Athens, Taiwan, Tokyo, and Denmark for various exchange programs and projects, I'm very used to living in international, shared environments. As a housemate, I’m open-minded, respectful, and easygoing. I love a house where we can share a good cooked meal (I enjoy preparing traditional Italian soups, risottos, or making home-brewed ginger beer, kefir, ...), chat over a cup of tea or coffee, or listen to music together, having movie nights—while naturally respecting everyone’s quiet time and private space. I'm also a big fan of car trips and outdoors. I will bring my small car to Groningen and probably plan some trip around the Netherlands!

Financially, my studies are fully covered by an EU Erasmus Mundus scholarship, alongside personal savings, so rent will never be an issue. I’m non-smoking, have no pets, and I always take good care of my living space.
